White Oak
White oak is a hard, strong and dense wood. It's wear resistance is outstanding, making it ideal for heavy traffic areas. White oak sands well and absorbs finish easily. It's also easy to nail, with an excellent holding ability and very good resistance to splitting. White Oak sapwood is honey gold in color, but the heartwood is a dark brown. The higher the grade, the lesser percentage of heartwood.
